Part-Time German-Speaking Nanny
Role Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced German-speaking nanny to care for a 3-year-old girl within a private family based in Barrio de Salamanca, Madrid.
This is a regular, long-term position, ideally suited to a professional with a background in education or child development who enjoys actively supporting a young child’s development through play, reading, and creative and stimulating activities.
German should be the sole language used when communicating with the child, with the aim of naturally encouraging and strengthening her command of the language.
Location
Location: Barrio de Salamanca, Madrid.
Schedule and Conditions
Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week.
Regular schedule:
Monday from 16:00 to 21:00.
Wednesday from 16:00 to 21:00.
Start Date: 21 September 2026.
Duration: Regular, long-term position.
Salary: Competitive and dependent upon the successful candidate’s experience, training and qualifications.
Some occasional flexibility outside the regular working hours would be appreciated, including certain evenings, weekends and potential requirements related to family travel.
Responsibilities
Provide attentive and responsible care for a 3-year-old girl.
Create a warm, safe, stimulating and age-appropriate environment.
Organise games, reading and creative activities that actively support the child’s development.
Communicate exclusively in German with the child to encourage the natural acquisition and development of the language.
Organise walks and age-appropriate activities outside the home.
Accompany the child to her dance classes when required.
Prepare light meals and snacks during working hours.
Engage actively in the child’s play and activities, providing attentive, present and involved care.
Requirements
Fluent or native-level German, with the ability to communicate exclusively in German with the child.
A background or qualification in education, pedagogy, child development or a related field.
Demonstrable experience working with young children, preferably of a similar age.
Ability to plan creative, educational and developmentally appropriate activities.
Verifiable professional references.
Warm, responsible, attentive and proactive personality.
High level of professionalism, discretion and reliability.
Occasional flexibility to accommodate additional requirements of the family.
Legal right to work in Spain.
